I have been playing a lot of my other hoods but the math is driving me insane. Instead, here is a lowkey prosperity challenge with some changes, mostly that I'm not keeping points and am adding households based on how many community lots I have.

I am pretending it is a full town despite the fact I made it too big and ran out of building enthusiasm.

Year One Summer: Rossi

We're back with the Rossi family, back to

Madam Valentina kissing her coworker the moment she gets home, ignoring her toddler Vincenzo. Oh how I love the Rossi family.

Other members are older daughter Bianca, who is dating Zac Efron, one of her mom's flings.

And finally twin girls Aria and Livia. Despite the amount of time she spends with a rotating cast of men, Valentina is a fantastic mom. She is a hell of a romance sim to raise five kids on her own and genuinely and love and care for them.

Her cast of men do help with stress relief, however.

After a quick romp, it's time for a family dinner.

Valentina's man of the day even manages to stay the whole night

Even if he does leave before breakfast

Valentina doesn't seem bothered. She headed right to work without any complaint.

And she even brings home a new man, Jasper Hale, who is a vampire. Vincenzo is kinda lacking in the facial department- and he may roll to be gay or just not want kids. I think we should go for a spare.

My reasoning:

I love seeing new genetics and you've made some cute kids

Jasper is a vampire and that means the baby and/or heir could be a vampire

There aren't any playable vamps yet and it would be cool to have that

You're the best suited for a baby, you're rich and have a live-in nanny in your daughter.

Valentina's reasoning:

I have a fear of having a baby

Well, as I am a just god I will not force you. Risky woohoo is still on, however.

The rest of the night is fairly uneventful.

And fades into a lazy morning

It's Vincenzo's birthday already! Here's hoping you age into your face little man.

I mean... it's better. Right? Maybe? Please?!

Giada and Mateo bring baby Riley to the birthday party and Auntie Biana is immediately on the case.

Grandma gets some baby time too, despite Bianca's protests.

Breakfast the next morning is controversial. Livia brings up politics at 7 am.

Luckily, we're all such nice sims that no fights break out.

Bianca is feeling stuck with Zac. She wants to settle down and he is playing around. She goes for a dramatic new look on their date.

And commemorates the moment with a photo.

The night gets romantic as the sun sets.

And Bianca yells yes.

With that proposal, it's official, Zac has chosen her. The two call a taxi and head to their new life as a couple. They've moved out to Sentinel Apartments and will be saving for a home. Zac is officially playable (and has more wants with and chemistry with Valentina than his fiancé).

Stephanie’s parents. We won’t tell them that Justin called them basically so old. 😂🤣😂

Since Jeremy is always behind the camera these days (and because they’re getting on in their years…) I wanted to grab a decent shot of them together.

Jeremy (age 73) is my first born-in-game Nova family sim, and also the first-born of all gen 2 sims across all the legacy families. (Back in TS2 days, we called it “prosperity challenge gameplay” where you start 6 legacy families to populate the neighborhood and play in rotation all at once).

Alice (age 67) is Jeremy’s second marriage, which is why they had Steph so late in life. His first wife died of a brutal sickness mod I had in my game, leaving Steph’s older siblings (Pat and Riley) motherless from age 5. Stephanie is about 10 years younger than her siblings.

In their youth, shortly before Stephanie was born:

I don’t seem to have their wedding photos, so probably they got married in their bedroom in their underwear, after the woohoo that conceived Stephanie, as you do. 😂

Bio: Nathan is a very inquisitive young boy, with a promising athletic career in front of him. He cares very deeply for his best friend, Leo.

Creation Notes:

The entire family here? They're all based around Nathan! This is because I downloaded Nathan back in the Exchange days around 2011. He's packaged as a teen with a pair of custom underwear (tank top edit to put a wolf logo on it, and a custom boxer color).

In the original, I aged him down to child and built up a family around him (parents and younger sister). Part of this reason is that I needed potential partners for the spouses of the Baker twins, and he was one of them!

However, I have since revisited that, and the aforementioned Leo will be his future partner. (No, really. Leo married the other Baker twin, and despite the two being in marriages, I would imagine Leo and Nathan together. Surprised I didn't just get them together at first, but that was life then.) I'll talk more about Leo in the next family intro!

Jennifer's free-spirit is based upon the shirt and the shirt alone. I remember I got it from another Exchange sim, who was the founder of a 100 Baby Challenge story on the site. Can't remember if I have that original sim, but the only similarities they share are their clothing.

Alice is probably the least developed sim character-wise from the family. I think it's because I made her a toddler back in the day, and I was focusing my efforts elsewhere before her. The 'hood was gone before I really started to get into what made her.

Also poor Patrick. Rolled into this version of the 'hood with a career-based LTW. But hey, never say never, since it could happen! I'm bad at farming in TS2, so let's hope if I do get back to playing this 'hood that I can at least manage to not have everything be sickly!

11.10.2024 - The Salatzars

When I returned to the Sims 2, I kind of wanted to recreate the magic that was my very first family ever - the Best's. They were the family I learnt all the Sims gameplay on. They lived in Pleasantview, in one of the condos near the Calientes and Lothario's place.

So naturally I chose Belladonna Cove and my lovely Pandora (in my mind a decendent of my OG Best family) married an unsuitable (if one is to believe the attraction scale on TS2) match called Travis Salatzar. So same, same. But different. Hahaha! Anyway enough introduction chatter and more meeting the new legacy family:

Despite their glaring differences, Pandora and Travis have soldiered on. Pandora worked extremely hard to get herself to the top of the education career. It was around the time she was a senior lecturer at Academy Le Tour University that she bumped into Travis, a budding world adventurer, at the campus for the day to inspire students to travel and learn all the marvels of the world first hand, not through books and conventional learning like lectures. Afronted Pandora challenged Travis on this and despite her indignation (and obvious extreme opposition) Travis couldn't take his eyes off Pandora. His charm and wit won Pandora and perhaps through the tough times, Travis found it in his heart to stay when he'd look at their combined bank balance (cushioned heavily by Pandora) Those Fortune aspirations reminded him love was not just a feeling but at times a transaction!

Pandora, on the other hand, need just look at her two beautiful children and she just focused on finding the middle ground for the two of them. And so they jetsetted around the Sim-World, started their own individual businesses that they lovingly nurtured together once their children had left for university. And now Pandora is Education Minister and has brought Belladonna Cove into the prep school ranks - having hired a wealth of fantastic teachers to allow the gentrified town to prosper under well educated decendents.

Moving on from their older values and ways, we will meet the Capwell dynasty that will coincide with the Salaztars through their daughter; Quinn. But more on other founding dynasty and the second generations later!

Y1: Summer - Martinez

Aaron Martinez (top left) and Maria Martinez (top right) were high school sweethearts who had their oldest daughter Delfina Martinez (bottom right) in their final year of high school. This didn’t stop them both from going to university and getting good degrees, however! They did wait until after graduation to have middle child Micaela Martinez (bottom left), and little Soraya Martinez (bottom middle) followed not long after. Now they’ve decided to move to Aspiration Point to have a bit more room, and are considering expanding their family even more. SimCity Housing Association was very keen to add university educated sims to the Aspiration Point community!

The Martinez Family got the Cape Cod Classic house from the Lot Bin because they needed a few bedrooms but couldn’t afford anything bigger.

Little Soraya’s nursery is on the ground floor, Aaron and Maria have the upstairs room on the left, and Delfina and Micaela share the upstairs room on the right. There house has been furnished with the basics because that was just about all they could afford.

Aaron gets right inside studying cleaning and learns a deep appreciation for Nature. Bird-watching is his favourite past time.

Meanwhile, Maria is left to potty-train Soraya, and make funny faces while she waits.

The Welcome Wagon for this household was Blair Davis (pictured) and Luc and Frank Noel. Aaron is pleased to meet the neighbours.

Maria might be even more pleased to meet the neighbours. She immediately rolled the want to flirt with Frank as soon as she met him. Romance sims....

Delfina studied cleaning and decided to follow in her father’s footsteps with a Nature hobby. She prefers to spend her time in nature hiking though, not bird watching like Aaron.

Of course the first sim Delfina brought home from school was Bradley Armstrong, her crush.

She found out that he felt the same, and they quickly fell in love.

Love didn’t stop her pelting him with a football though!

Of course, she decided she wanted to have her very first kiss and make things official with Bradley as soon as possible.

Apparently, she couldn’t keep her mind on her schoolwork because she came home with a D-. But she also came home with Bradley in tow!

Delfina made her move and she and Bradley had their first kiss.

When she asked him to Go Steady with her, Bradley said yes! Delfina’s parents were a little too excited for their daughter and her new boyfriend, and immediately rushed over to congratulate them.

True Love!

Micaela scored an A- in school, while Delfina’s grades dropped to an F and she became officially the worst student from Aspiration Point.

Aaron wanted to finally sit down and use his literature degree to write his first novel. Neither he nor Maria had jobs so he figured this might earn them some money.

Soraya manged to learn to use the potty while her sisters were out at school or with boys! Delfina and Micaela took some time to hang out with their babysister and help her learn from the charisma bunny.

With all three of their daughters busy, Aaron and Maria took the opportunity to have a date night for the first time in years.

This is Kim, Gina’s cat. Kim was a stray, but Gina recently adopted her! I guess she felt they were kindred spirits, both being alone in the world.

Prosperity Challenge Progress List

Yes, I am slow and yes I cannot shut up - but hey, it’s Saturday and everything is allowed to be just a little crazy :) For the Prosperity Challenge I decided to just step up my game and goals a little so currently these things need to be done:

Finish making Townies (18/30), Families (0/3) and find out if there is a way to create/make-over NPCs as well or if I just let them spawn naturally.

Attempt building/download way prettier community lots and decide on a neighbourhood theme

get my default replacements folder nice and filled

maybe make a few pre-gameplay pictures of the families (bc, yes, dead spouses will feature in those and I kinda want them?)

finally get around to use traits that modify behaviour

decide if i really wanna commit to use the tag “three shades of getting rich” for this

kinda get university stuff done first bc you know real life

Willow Grove - University update

The uni updates seem to fly by, so here we go.

Evelyn seems to have taken up painting since she moved in. They absolutely do not need the money from it as they get a ridiculous amount from scholarships and getting good grades, but it make her happy so she can paint to her hearts delight!

Mitch and Evelyn kept rolling wants to hang out and be friends, so they did.

Graham and Evelyn seem to have becoming a little bit more than friends (Literally everyone in the neighborhood has their gender pref set to bi soooooo)

Of course, Graham still has time for Mitch as well.

Theo looks a lot happier about this than Graham does.

Mean cow guy came back and made Mitch cry :(

Graham was sympathetic about the whole thing and brought pizza back with him.

silas and thomasina

Silas has been holding down the family home, since their parents died while Thomasina has been exploring the world. Imagine her surprise when she returned and all she found was rusted metal and old furniture. She hates the fact she is expected to live like this now, and is intent on transforming both their lives. Silas doesn't like admitting he might have been in a slump. Silas doesn't really like admitting anything, really. Her brother has always been the strong silent type, but this is different. He's always been a romantic, dating around and trying to find happiness in others, but he's really fallen into his passion for sewing recently and Thoma is hoping that it's a good thing. She is taking care of the hens and the garden and re-opened their family's old Farmer's Market lot.

Year One Fall Rossi

And we are back to the fabulous Rossi household. Matriarch Valentina is with her favorite boy toy.

She doesn't have any wants about him, but she constantly brings him home from work and spends the night with him.

Once again- not trying for baby, but not stopping it if it happens...

Speaking up, my babies the twins are growing up! I love these girls and hope they pass on some red hair. Miss Aria Rossi and Miss Livia Rossi. I think they turned out fairly cute. Both rolled pleasure.

They immediately wanted new clothes, so it's makeover time!

Miss Livia- I went with medium length hair since she's low maintenance and minimal makeup. Aria has short, cropped hair and minimal makeup as well.

The Rossi house has been plagued by hauntings from their ancestors lately. It's making sleep difficult.

Aria has stepped into her big sister role beautifully.

And mom's beau of the day (who her daughter is engaged to) attempts to fix up their computer when Aria points out it's broken. She wants to use influence 100 times, so I am actually utilizing it.

Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if Zac went. He's a cheater and his genes are already spreading in the neighborhood.

Still, that's pretty gnarly. A fire broke out and everything. The twins were able to put it out before anything was destroyed- including their future brother-in-law.

The family is back to business as usual in no time.

Valentina even flirts with the exterminator when she shows up in the morning.

Speaking of flirting- Aria is flirting with London Tipton at every opportunity. Cuties! Aria is so much like Valentina- flirty, a great cook, and family oriented despite her aspiration.

Giada even drops by for dinner (with her pregnant belly and waddle) and gets to meet London.

ACR leads to a first kiss!

Livia is dreaming of going on a date. She is desperate, but there hasn't been anyone she's interested in. I'm sure this family's morning conversation must involve discussing conquests.

Especially when Eliana Reyes gets the moves put on her by Aria the moment she stops by.

She even ends the night much like her mother- seducing someone she just met.

The twins Blair and Daniel Franklin (who i literally took almost No pictures of until they were teens.. why me) children of John and Melissa. Both in the midst of their teen years right now, they might be going to college by the end of this round but I’m not sure right now.. Daniel is officially dating Marta Harrison but Blair also has a fling with her lol. They aren’t aware of this though and are close as could be.

A while ago, @glabeglarn shared the amazing Stilla. I’ve always been interested in playing a Prosperity Challenge, so I decided to start one here. This is what I’m calling my “Tumblr” hood, as well, where I only place lots and sims (except generated townies) that I took from Tumblr.

To begin with, there are (only!) two households in Stilla: the Wineheart and the Summ household. Wineheart comes first in the rotation, and then Summ.
